I love my Smart Phone....I'm sure I spend too much time with it. But, I'd like to think that I'm not rude with it. It annoys me to no end when someone beside me is yapping away.

Wife and I stopped at Starbucks one evening at the mall. Got our drinks and found a table. Soon, in walks a young couple, college age, obvious lovers from their demeanor. Got their drinks and found a romantic little corner table off on the side. Both immediately pulled out their electronic devices and started furiously texting. Every so often one would look up and give a loving smile to the other. Took us a little while to figure out they were texting EACH OTHER!

That might have been "sexting". The giggling gives it away.

It is a new age for us old guys. My oldest loves her phone. We keep an eye and strict limits but times are changing. I still remember the talk in the backyard with my Dad over my hair and recreational activities.

The creepy web lurkers really scare me!

Rude, old fanny burp.

In my home as well as my parents' we always say, "please". Etiquette is not forgotten when peeved and especially not when making a point about polite comportment.

I thought the same thing. ESPECIALLY when making a point about etiquette, one should be on their best behavior.

He said please the first time. And as for rules, in our house it was do as I say, not what I do.

I guess I'm weird, but I never got into cell phones. I didn't like being locked into a 2 year contract so I went with a pay-as-you-go phone and plan. I would buy days, and accrue minutes. I wound up with over 1,500 minutes the last time I ran out of days. I carried it in my truck when I went venturing up into the hills, just in case (but I found out there "ain't no bars" up there) and in three years I don't think I used it more then twice. I figger I'm not so important that I need to be constantly available to the whole world 24 hrs per day, and if there's an emergency, it'll be handled like emergencies were handled pre-cell...

I just wish the people who come in to pick up their prescriptions would either end the call or set the phone down while we make sure we have the right prescription for the person at the register. Phones are dangerous to the user if the user doesn't have the strength of character to put them down for something that could either make their life better or end it horribly.
