Nice Missouri Buck

Post by TedH »

I struck out during the regular rifle season this year, but my brother in law connected with this bruiser on the last day of the season. One shot with a 223.

Yep, he already dropped it off with the taxidermist.

He said the buck was on the move trailing a doe that had come through earlier, and he just wouldn't stop. He took a neck shot offhand at about 80 yards on the buck figuring he would either miss him cleanly, or drop him. He dropped in his tracks. :D

Dang Ted.....that baby is something to write home about. Congrats to your BIL . :D

Funny thing, when your headline read, "nice Missouri buck", I thought you were talking political stuff from that city out your way.

I bet the spread on that buck is 20".----6

Any chance of sharing what ammo or bullet he used or which firearm or Bbl. length? Not that I am being overly nosy I hope.
Very nice buck.

I have been carrying a Remington Sportsman 78 chambered in .223 loaded with Winchester PDX1 60 grain ammo. I believe the rifle has a 24" barrel. WalMart did not have Winchester's deer load.

He shoots Remington factory stuff, 62 gr. Corelockts. Not sure what his rifle is, but I'll ask.

I'd be more than happy with a buck like that. He is a handsome one.

But it will be another 22 days until the season opens. Lots of pheasants to chase in the mean time.
