.

My Remington pump is a .35, I recently bought from another forum member (Thanks, Bill ! ) - but here's some loading data I found online:

http://www.loaddata.com/members/search_ ... licID=2470

http://www.remingtonsociety.com/forums/ ... f=5&t=4249

AFAIK, the loading data for a .25/35 Winchester is almost identical to the .25 Rem data.

Any 25-35 load data will work. The 25 Remington has more case capacity than the 25-35 . The 25-35 holds 36 grains of water , the 25 Remington holds 43 grains. So you will not go over pressure with 25-35 load data. If he has old empty cases anneal them first before reloading them.

A 30 Remmy case is the same as a 25, you can neck down a 30 and ream the neck to the proper thickness.

BTW; the 25 Remmy was the least made chambering of the model 14/141 Rifles. In good shape they are worth more than the 30's & 35's.

Had a chance to buy one of those a few years ago but passed. Someone had cut off the buttstock to a pistol grip "gangsta" style. I didnt know how hard to find a new stock to match would be so I passed on it.

I found that I could make 30 Rem cases from 30-30s. Takes a few steps on a lathe but it is easy to do though it takes a few minutes each. Just turn the rim off and cut an extractor groove. I'll bet these could be necked down to 25 but would probably need neck reaming.

IIRC, the .25Rem wasn't cataloged as a Model 141 chambering, just for the Model 14.

Of course, that doesn't mean that there were never any Model 141's so chambered - but if found, IMHO it would be a rare bird, indeed.

You guys sure this isn't a Model 25 pump in .25-20? Now THAT is a find.

I'm with Mike. Probably the more likely -- you'd better have a look to see just what the friend has there.

And if it is 25 Remington -- I make them from 30 Remington using a first pass into a 7mm die to take the neck down in 2 stages. And at least for my two rifles, no neck reaming/turning is needed, although they do need periodic trimming.

And as BenT noted, case capacity of the 25 Remington is greater than 25/35: more like 25/35 AI though a little less capacity because the 25 Rem maintains the long neck.

Thanks Earl, this co worker has gone under cover now. I guess I asked too many questions about the Family Heirloom. I have to wait and See if He brings it up. I think He's wondering if it is a big dollar item.
