Prayers for a Wonderful Person Might Help

Post by AJMD429 »

A wonderful friend and fellow health-care provider (one of the brightest and best I've known) had a stroke today.
She's helped so many people in her lifetime (and she's still young) that hopefully the help will circle back.
I know she's in good hands (good Docs with God's oversight).

Well, she's doing better (no surprises or complications at least), but now there's the recovery phase, and the "why did this happen, and what can we do to make sure it never happens again" phase...

Fascinating to hear her describe the view of our 'healthcare system' from the inside, as one who knows how things should be done... :|

Anyway, as usual - PRAYER HELPS - so thanks, and keep 'em coming - she truly deserves to survive and thrive.

My rule is I never pray for something that benefits ME, but I utter prayers of Thankfulness and Gratitude several times a day for all the blessings I have received in life, and although I try not to bother the Big Guy with lots of stuff, I do pray for the health and/or well-being and/or success of others - just not myself. That always seemed too selfish; God will (and has) take care of me if I deserve it, and as long as I seem to be doing something useful for others (which I evidently have been so far, or I've got him fooled... :o  ).

Again, THANKS.

That is exactly my line of thought on prayer as well. God has blessed me greatly, so I am thankful, and don't want to ask for anything more for myself. I do strongly believe in prayers for others though, and have personally felt the power of prayer that others here have offered up when I've been in need, or someone I hold dear...
