Shot my 214 y/o pistol on Friday
It was in honor of a fellow black powder shooter that recently passed...
The pistol is a 60 caliber smooth bore French Gendarmerie police pistol: 5 inch barrel dated 1801
Things went well for all three shots I fired....
I under loaded it using FFg instead of the recommended FFFg and with the charge reduced a tad just to hedge my bets a bit... It went bang without any hitches.... and miracle of miracles, I hit the 20 yd. gong two of the three shots...With witnesses!!!
My pistol is just like this one... I just don't have any good pics made of mine yet.
