Oooh! Very Nice! We rarely get ice conditions that are safe for ice fishing despite being only 31 miles south of Kansas but I sure like crappie. Maybe my favorite food fish. I have a spot that I need to get to but have been ailing for a month or more and it just made me unable to go. I was just thinking today that it won't be long 'til the white bass are running up Big Cabin Creek. I know, poor comparison to crappie but I take whatever is running.

You got to admire white bass for how hard they hit and fight.

Crappies run with perch at the top of my warmwater gamefish favorites list. Those are some nice fat ones!

Nice bunch of great eating fish! Thanks for showing us. Our ice is gone, will need another real cold snap to get it safe again, temp being in the 40s. I not complaining especially when seeing the storms hitting our eastern side.
This is plagiarized from someone else, but I love it!

Nice fish there. My Dad and I use to fish for them every year during the spawn. I miss those days.

In the bayou country of South Louisiana, those fish are known as Sac-a-lait. That is Cajun French meaning Sac of milk.
We scale them and then cut a checker board pattern on each side before throwing them into a pot of hot oil. This allows one to pull off large squares of tasty white meat.
We put them in a bowl of milk, mustard, and Cajun seasoning before they get the coating of our top Fish Fry. Later David
