Coke Bottle Gatling Gun

Post by jkbrea »

Someone here once posted something this guy built. Kinda cool. If he used aluminum bottles he could get a lot more fps from it. He sure is inventive.

Now that is interesting. And he obviously enjoys himself designing and fabricating such things.

The "gatling gun" is just dumb... but I can see a LOT of "potential" in the single shot bottle, especially with an electrically tripped valve...

Sort of a PITA.....A potato gun-concept would reload in seconds with can of hair spray, and be rigged up with a piezoelectric grill igniter. I'm thinking of a mortar-type of contraption, too.

That type of device is not something I want to be around to reload. It's there to do a job whilst I'm off somewhere doing a job...

Maybe a bank of them to saturate a choke point, with a second bank to fire 2 seconds later, muzzleloader volley style... simple and cheap enough to set up, even with remote valves.

Not sure. But the concept is sound enough to apply to, say, a few Paintball CO2 cylinders...

It may look like a dumb idea from where you are sitting, but I sure wouldn't want to stand down range and lift me kilt in his direction
The single shot version, modified to include a good set of sights, might make a stealthy small game hunting weapon.

It's only the sixshooter that doesn't look practical to me. I can't see a decent way to aim it.

The individual piece OTOH...

He's a bit gabbier, but the situation reminds me of Pitchey's various projects,

I guess it's great for Germany, or any other nation hard on firearms - but I think I'd rather have a Ruger 10/22 based La Rue Airrow conversion: https://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html ... 9&t=197781

The guy is fun! He's done all sorts of crazy stuff with slingshots, and arrows. His funniest was his slingshot using steel ball bearings ricocheting into his forehead, knocking him down, and leaving him a bloody mess! It was all over the internet, with people going ballistic about how stupid he was. Then he later released a "how it was made" video, explaining how they did the fake! I loved it, once I found out he faked it all!

What is it that makes this a "gatling gun" and not just a revolver?

Nothing. It isn't a gattling gun, since he has to turn it and open each valve. But he did a later improved version that actually is a gattling gun! He put operators on each bottle, and a trigger device on the frame of the next one. It was powered by a battery drive drill motor, and fired all the arrows automatically.
