I feel like I won the lottery

Post by KeithNyst »

Every once in a while I check gunbroker to see what's for sale for my favorite rifle, the Savage 99. Seems like the ones on GunBroker are always too expensive or messed with in some way or another. Last week I did that check, and to my astonishment, this rifle had just been posted at a steal buy now price. It's my find of a lifetime, a 1935 Savage model 99T chambered in .250-3000 Savage. It's the finest condition Savage I have seen, in a hard to find 99 model and caliber. Hope you enjoy the pic; I'm still floating.

That is a great find. I have one as nice but yours is almost 20 years older.

Excellent buy!

First rifle I ever bought was going to be a 99E in .308. Came back with the money a few hours later and it was gone. Being more of a military surplus (and generally military) guy, I consoled myself with a No.4 Mk1......still have it.

I still wouldn't mind a 99 either though.

A good gunsmith could add one as well as sawing a couple inches off the stock and adding a nice misfitting recoil pad! :D

That baby caught my eye as soon as I scrolled up. Nice pic too. Yep, my guess is that about one in a hundred pre-war2-post ww1 guns are in that condition.

Enjoy that float.....the older you get, the shorter it lasts. :D ----6

  My favorite caliber for the 99. Now load some 87 grain Sierras and an almost max load of 4064 and watch those dime sized groups form.
