Two good deals this week

Post by Mossyoak1957 »

Got a couple good deals this week first was a clean 1960 Marlin 336 S.C. 30-30 with a like new old Redfield 1 3/4 to 5 X scope on it and the second was a Nice old Thompson/Center 36 Cal. black powder rifle.

Always wanted a small cal. black powder rifle.
Not sure if I'm going to keep the scope on the 336 or not.

Dang, you stole that TC. If that is the Seneca, they go for around $500+. IIRC, they use .350" rounds balls

Boy you sure did get great deals!
I never find deals like that!
You will have a lot of fun with that Seneca, I have a Cherokee .32, very accurate and does a number on squirrels! .310 RBs & .010 patch with 20 grains of 3f. I even have a Maxi-ball mould,107 grains or pure lead.

If you decide to not keep the scope, these old eyes would be interested. Please p.m. me if you decide you don't want it.

Congratulations on both!

If you can find a .36 cal Maxi ball mould you'll be amazed at what a killer that TC is. They are quite up to taking deer sized game.

Would like to do that but here in P.A. BP guns have to be 45 Cal. and up for deer.

We'll have to start calling you "Lightfingers." Great buys, both of them.

I have got to start hanging out with you more. Both very nice. With my Marlin SC's and your Marlin SC's we should plan a play date for them.
