Hey Sixgun or anyone else, how old are these?
Stopped by antique shop this afternoon with the Boss Lady and spotted several of these on a shelf. I thought they
were cool so I bought a couple. There were three or four others but these are the two I use the most.
Wondering about how old they are. The can of Unique has a $3.30 price on it.

I have identical cans purchased in the early 1960's.

I believe That is the can for Unique when I started reloading in 1960. It came in that type of can for several years.

Lucky dog. I would love to find some old ones like that. Been trying to find a large one to make a lamp out of.

Yea...like others have said....sixties.....when I first started reloading in '72 those cans were still in use. I believe that these cans ended by mid seventies or so.
These cans came into play in the fifties. I had quite a collection of them in many different powder types.....maybe 30 cans that I personally used up. Just over the course of the last year I burned up 4 cans of Hi-Vel #2 and it was fine with excellent velocities. -----6

Now! THIS is old. I even have older ones but I'm too lazy to dig them out from my display. I even have a DuPont black powder one from the late 1800's. The Bullseye and Unique are pre war. A couple of these were presents from my most excellent friend and mentor, Jack Kort.
If ya notice, the Laflin & Rand powder can has loadings for the 32-40, 38-55, 38-56, 40-82, 45-70 and 45-90.
The 2400, Unique, 4320, Reloader 21, DuPont Bulk, and that Italian powder at the top are all factory complete and full.----6
No, no, I can't be THAT old. Even at 63 I still remember some of these cans on dealers shelves.....b.s...maybe Terry Murbach can.

That's cool Jack! I may stop and pick up a couple more if I'm back out that way again. There was a can of 2400 and a couple others that I can't remember.

Yours look similar to what adorns the top of one of my safes Sixgun!
I've got some like the original post, but never considered them collectable. Tried to sell them at our local gun show for a few dollars each and nobody wanted them.

Marlinman...go figure......this new generation does not care about old stuff. A couple of weeks ago I took a box of about 30 old powder cans to the auction house....and I'll be happy to get $20 for them all.---6
