A little custom work on my Heritage Rough Rider.
Picked up the 22LR/22Mag Rough Rider some years ago and hadn't shot it much. When they released the short barrel Barkeep I decided to take off on that idea.
So I shortened the barrel to 2 1/4 inch and made a custom front sight plus opened up the rear sight notch. Now without the case ejector I make up a rod capped with a small dice
and then drill a hole in the bottom of the grip to retain the ejector rod to always keep it with the revolver. Polished off the black paint from the grip frame and add the Heritage engraved cylinder with the poker theme.
I gave the name Blackjack and think it turned out well.

Very nice!
I do not have a Heritage Rough Rider. The safety has always turned me off - like many traditionalists. That said, I understand they are good little guns, especially for the money.
When they came out with the Barkeep last year that perked my interest. Now that it is available in a birdshead grip, I am really getting interested!
Now more food for thought...

That funky safety can be popped out and hole plugged which I did on my project. I just load 5. It's a fun little can popper! I have another 22 revolver the 12 shot Cattleman.Ysabel Kid wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 9:32 pm Very nice!

That's relative, of course. One reason I've never owned a 357 is the sound factor. I borrow my brother-in-law's about every time we're up north, and that always reminds me why I don't own a 357. Still waiting to shoot full house loads out of my wife's 327. After that I'll probably be looking at getting a "quiet" little 357.

Very cool! I suspected that the safety can be removed, similar to removing the obnoxious one on a Rossi '92.leverman44 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 11:03 pmThat funky safety can be popped out and hole plugged which I did on my project. I just saw a video today that Heritage came out with a Barkeep called the "Barkeep Boot". Really interesting, but I like yours with a front sight!

It shoots much better with either CCI 22LR or Quiets as you can see from that card target. The $$ 22 Magnums were all over the place. At first I finished it without a front sight but later made one for it.

Nice hog leg cowboy!
You could use it for any lily livered big eared galoot that has a mind to slap leather with the meanest
bow-legged varmints too come down the pike in quite a spell!
It could also be used for any bush whacking barracuda that fixxen for a showdown!
Or any fur bearin critter than needs a roastin!
Sorry, I'm channeling Yosemite Sam.
