And there's always the possibility the real optics and fake optics come out of the same plant in China! The Chinese are well known for ripping off their own devices when a company contracts them to build something. Usually they wait until the contract is fulfilled, and then cut corners on the counterfeit clones. This would explain the perfect boxes, instructions, and lens covers.

Pick just about any name brand optical sight or scope on the market, and you can find a Chinese copy of it being sold for about 10% of the real deal. Some are hard to tell that they are fakes, some not so much. Buy from reputable retailers to be sure you're getting what you want.
