Ted Williams 30-30

Post by angryman »

Can anyone tell me anything good or bad about the Ted Williams '94? My local shop has one for 300.00 cash(pretty good shape). That's a good price for @ here, but still higher than I would have thought.

Ted Williams was the Trade name used by Sears
They contracted with various gum makers over the years tyo manufacture their firearms for them under their trade name Guns were made by Winchester , Mossberg and Marlin depending on the bid con tract that usually lasted for 5 years, then new bids went out .
MOSt of the 94 types were made by Winchester but Mossberg and Marlin made levers for then over the years Usualy the quality of the steel and workng mechanical parts were the same as the regular manufacture of that company but the wood and bluing and other MINOR features were skimped to save money . Usually good buys if they were cared for

The Ted Williams Model 100 are nice little carbines, they're post-64 Winchester Model 94s with different sights, rollmarkings etc.

I found one with most/all of the bluing gone but superb mechanicaly in a local shop last year or so. Dinked around after I found out what it was, and why it look just like a '94, and ended up going to buy it just one weekend too late. $200 :(
