Good thoughts, por favor?
My apprehension over a procedure scheduled for Wednesday afternoon scarcely merits a full-blown prayer request, but good thoughts would be welcome nonetheless.
My female urologist is going to do a cytoscopy -- thread a tiny camera up you-know-where -- and have a look-see inside bladder and prostate region to see if I might be a candidate for a "Urolift" as the doxazosin/Cardura I have been on for 10 or so years has finally lost its punch. I cannot begin to contain my joy at this prospect, but realize it is more the idea of it than any likely discomfort that has me sweating. And for icing on the cake, she'll do a DRE while she has me in a totally compromised position. OH THE HUMANITY!
Sooo, if any here have good thoughts they might spare for old Bill -- and for old guys everywhere, it would be mucho appreciado.

Since you are paying her to do this to you, perhaps you could consider it as being similar to a transaction one might make in a border town, if one had kinky tastes? And try to enjoy it?
Seriously, I don't mind praying that you come through this in good shape and with the finding that whatever you need will be an easy fix. I believe the Lord is interested in what we might consider "small" things as well as larger serious things.

Jim: Border? Border? I have no idea what you are talking about!
John, yes, smoothly please!
This stuff is so routine for medical professionals that I know they don't give it a second thought, but it is a brave new world for the patient.
I'll never forget my last fusion, L5-S1 performed at Legacy Hospital in El Paso. It was my last day in the hospital and a lovely young nurse came in to go over the release and aftercare paperwork with me. While we were doing this, a burly male nurse with tats strolled right up to my bed, gloved up, flipped up my nightgown and announced, "Bill the catheter is coming out on three!" And then he had the nerve to pull it out on the count of two!
I was speechless and bright red, of course, but my lovely young nurse continued with the release protocol without missing a beat!

Don't sweat it Bill- if they can replace a knee completely in less than 2 hours your time at the 'cinema ' will be a piece of cake!

Prayers UP Bill, there is no such thing as a small prayer request to Jesus.
Re: Good thoughts, por favor?
You're in my prayers. Don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds. I had it done about 10 years ago. I now think that I didn't really need it but what do I know.
