Winchester 9410 / Squirrel Hunt

Post by kmittleman »

Hi All,

I was wondering what you all thought about the Winchester 9410's. Also, I know it isn't a levergun, but I just took two squirrels at once w/ one shot from my Grandfathers single barrel .410 that I inherited. There was something really cool and satisfying about that hunt. Sorry, no pics ( well some of Brunswick Stew if you want........)

I like the 9410. Only reason I don't still have one is that I liked the 1886 I traded it for better.

I've never heard anyone say anything bad about them -- have seen lots praise them.

I had one too. Neat gun that I regret selling but it was one of those times that you do what you have to.

Worked great and fed every brand of shells I could come up with. Knocked off a bunch of red squirrels with it.

Plan on owning another one some day.

Never had a 9410 .

But I have a recent manufacture Marlin 410 that I bought 3 or 4 years ago new and it's still NIB

Might just have to do something about that

Since I bought my first 9410 in 2003, I have not hunted small game with anything else. It's deadly on cottontails over dogs and just holding a Winchester levergun is great while you're waiting for the dogs to circle a bunny. My friends, family, and I have taken over 300 rabbits in the last three years and a large percentage fell to a .410. It's a classic gun and one I sorely miss since USRA closed its doors. I doubt it will ever return even if the 94 finally does. If you find one, snap it up. You won't regret it.
