You were right to walk away. Texans are common or can easily be "made". While a conversion is not a true Texan, it is easy to amend the PG stock( or replace ) and lower tang. All you need is to procure a 336 or 1895 straight lever. I converted a Glenfield 30A to straight grip by swapping p...

Never have paid to have a deer processed. I separate the muscles in the hind quarters and make steaks from several individual muscles. Bone the front quarters neck ribs and flank for grinding. I made a video a few years back from skinning to fully processed but never edited it for publishing.

I too saved a mold of late. I cleaned up the outside as well as the mold faces with oil and 4/0 steel wool. I then cast a few boolits from WW material. I then used a small amount of lapping compound in the cavities, twisting the lapping compound and boolits until the cavity came clean.

Texans weren't marked with a "T" but referred to as the Texan model. Don't some have "336 Texan" on the barrel? There are the Cowboy and Octagon 336s labeled as such. The only "Texan" I know marked is the 1897 Texan (22). Later models were the TS and LTS and so stamped...

I remember that Sheridan suggested you oil the seals prior to long term storage. Mine is 40+ years old and was recently repaired for the first time, replacing the cup seal. It sat in the shop for 10+ years only to be used on occasion. There is an air gun parts house in Tyler Texas, IIRC.
