I load the Speer 270 GD using RL-7. Very good bullet for Deer sized game. Can be very accurate too. Try the Alliant Powder site for this recipe. Rem Brass, 47grns RL-7 + Speer 270GD + wlr primer = +/- 2400fps (Max Load but still under 44,000cup). I would recommend starting at about 44grns and workin...

It makes me smile to read the words of so many American Patriots. I agree, the day we get too tired to stand up for our rights is the day we begin to lose them forever. Just remember, it is not enough to just speak up against gun control. Stand up for every right in the Constitution. We must not sla...

They also make a short action 7600 too. (7mm-08, .308,) etc. Rounds based on the 308 case. I think they base the 35 Rem on the ...

KG-12 Copper remover. Anyone use it?

I have been looking for a good bore cleaner that will remove copper without taking several hours to work. I stumbled across KG-12 Big Bore Copper remover on a site that had a very interesting 24 hour test that showed all the best known bore cleaners worked little to none on copper build up, but were...

This could be bad information but I have heard or read that the original Bowie, in addition to all the typical design features had 1/4in brass strap brased to the spine just behind the top cutting edge. This was apparently a fighting knife mod to catch the opponents blade and keep it from sliding ba...

I've heard that a 35 Whelen with a max load of RL-15 and a Speer 250 will shoot all the way through a black bear from north to south. I haven't had a chance to try it yet with my whelen, but I'm looking forward to it.

If your interested in the Whelen in either the pump or the 750 simi, they have them on gunbroker right now.

35 Whelen is a very fine caliber, mine is a Rem 700 CDL. Accurate and hits very, very hard. DoubleTap loads high velocity in 200, 225 and 250grn.

Next to my 444 it's my favorite thumper.
