Re: The defensive levergun
Right now, I have a three .357 Magnums double action handgun from my security working days, along with 16" .357 Magnum "Guide Gun", A gun that ironicly that I have yet to fire since new. The prior owner didn't fire the weapon, traded it in at a gunshop, and I then purchased it minus b...

Who's making a 1886 Winchester replicas?
Looking at Doug Turnbull's web sight, I like their services to make it look more period correct or restore. But I could afford a real one, nor would I want to "mess" with it. So who if anybody making a replica of Winchester 1886? By the same token how strong is the design? Can it take the ...

If I had the money and the time I'd love to get a Stainless Marlin 1894 in .44 Mag, worked on by DRC Customs. Hardend Mag tube, glove loop lever, and a custom stainless octoganial barrel set up for heavy grain bulliets. Have a Skinner Ladder site and custom front sight. Get a old cresent style stock...

Re: I need your help guys!!!!!
No recoil will not be a problem at all. But what I'll be allowed to justifyably keep is another. All the court would have to do is look at all the BATFE 4474 forms that I've filled out over the years and that could lead to more trouble than I want during a proceeding. And speaking from prior experia...

Re: Levergun cartridges on life-support
Just like the .327 Federal is like a .357 magnum but better. NOT! Like the .45 GAP ammo it's redundent. Like you can find out with the articals page one can see some of these "down and out" calibers, wouldn't be that way if their weren't for some technical/ human engineering issuse such as...

Re: On Marlins .45 LC 1894
Well I like to have both good optics and good iron sights (I am thinking a skinner ladder sight here). For if super klutz here drops the rifle and I hear the crunching noise of $400 scope going bye, bye. I'll still have something to work with. That and I like the scout rifle set up I got to t...

On Marlins .45 LC 1894
I was wondering I was looking at marlins web site and I was looking at getting a .45LC lever. But is the only one I see has a octoganial barrel not a big deal, except I wanted to put a scout mount on mine. Did Marlin ever make a round barrel version? If they did maybe I can find one used. Thanks in ...

I was on another board and someone brought up a question on the .35 Remington. Am I right in saying that their no way to make it an Auckley Improved because its too close pressure wise to the casings limit or the rifles?

A great debate
All right in My prior posts I was wondering if any one has .357 Magnum rifle and if they had any 600+ yards shooting experiance. Now I am in a great debate. I currently have a Marlin 336 in .30-30 Win and a Marlin 1894C in .357 Magnum. I am debating losing the .357 magnum handguns I own for I no lon...

I was just amazed to hear that a heavy .44mag or a .45LC could do like it's grandpa could the .45-70. I'm just amazed that it could do a man in at 800 yards! My question is has anyone shot a large tree (over 8" around), at 600 to 800 yards away, with a .357 magnum heavy load of 158, 180, or 200...

I was reading in American Handgunner Magazine about a review of Rugers Redhawk 4" in .45LC (darn, I WANT ONE!). John Taffin wrote the artical. John Toffin wrote how he and Jim Taylor were shooting Ruger Blackhawks (with 71/2" barrels) with 300gr. heavy loads at a log cabin 800+ yards away....

Hi, everyone new to the board I was a lurker for years now I'm on and putting in my .02 FWIW. I 'd say for home defense if one wise on selecting the bullets for your caliber. For .37 Magnum I'd recommend any 110 or 125gr THAT SHATTERS in the human body on Impact. Don't get the newer HP's like Winche...
