I have an older Marlin 1895 Cowboy with a 26" barrel that was worked over by Bob Munden. Used to take it out shooting gophers. Loaded 300gr cast over 12.5 gr unique for right at 1,100 fps. Loads of fun!

BOSCO,

Forgot to mention this above. You also need to make sure the strain screw is tight and stays that way. It is located at the bottom front of the grip frame. It places tension on the mainspring and light firing pin hits and misfires will result if this screw backs out.
