I think that the Skinner Sight should work well. The 275 gr Barnes XPB bullet in 480 Ruger is light for caliber and should shoot low compared to heavier slugs moving slower. It should work slick with the fiberoptic front sight that came with the gun.

I believe you have a better selection of bullets in 45-70 than the 475 Turnbull. Gary Reeder has been converting Marlin 1895s to his .45-70/475 wildcat for a while now.
