Re: 357/44 Bain & Davis Rossi Puma
I think Paco Kelly necked down a 41 mag to 30 cal. That gave me the idea of necking down the 454 to 30 cal for a cartridge that would function in a 92. If the 454 Puma was used with a 30-30 barrel it would be interesting to see what velocity you could get utilizing 454 pressures.

NonPC, its a Kick Ease pad if I remember right. The stock pad does very little to absorb recoil. Mic has an elaborate way of mounting it so it will always reinstall in the exact same posistion. Maybe the keylock is for the SAs imported by Rossi/Braztech. Can the plug that replaced the safety be drilled and tapped for the peep part of the Skinner Sight? I would use the Ruger Blackhawk only loads unless special care is made to mark them differently like brass cases for handgun and nickle cases for carbine. You wouldn't want to have a "hot" rifle round find its way into the revolver. That is also why I considered the Puma 454. You can use t...

The 450 grain cup point would be too long for a 45-70 case, if that was your intent. Now get them to reduce the weight to 300 to 325 grain and it would work very well. Re: 375 JDJ vs 375/444 vs 375 Winchester
In CA you can shoot .375 Barnes 270 gr and 300 gr Banded Solids. They will act like hardcast but not too aerodynamic. A 348 or 45-70 based case would be the way to go. But it almost sounds like a safe bullet in a tubular mag and flat trajectory to 300 yds is an oxymoron.

Since Marlin is coming out with its own 338 cartridge, I would wait a while to see what bullets are available.
