170's for me and my family. They seem to shoot more accurate out of our guns on average. They are no handicap at all out to 200 yards or so.

Pick whichever weapon suits you at the time. 90% is the operator's mindset. I've had the priveledge of being side by side around some of our nation's finest military. These guys, I believe, would complete the mission with sharpened sticks with no problems.

I still hunt mostly and slings hang up in the brush, thus making noise.....no good. It still goes with me in my blaze orange vest game pocket in case I need a drag or need to make a splint.

Hobie, I hope yours is in the order as well. I also found out that they are only releasing 500 per quarter this year. This upcoming quarter's allottment is already spoken for. They haven't said anything about getting more for next year. Yikes! Talk about an instant collectors item!

Only load i use in the .35 Remington.......37.5 grains of 3031, under a 200 grain Remington CoreLokt RN. A little stiff but consistent. Drop 10% and work up in your gun. Have fun....Thanks, Tom

As much as I love my 3" Ruger SP101, I'll have to agree with the others. A Smith & Wesson or Ruger GP100 in 4" barrel format is easily used by all but the smallest hands, and is controllable. Thanks, Tom

Why not use those with 1" reducers? Or I have had good luck with the LaRue Tacticals. Then again Leupold makes some nice steel, lever quick release rings. Hope this helps. Thanks, Tom

I don't know about the Speer Hot Cor's, however I know that 125 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips @ 3200+ fps will explode any varmint you decide to level the sights on...... Makes a bloody mess of 'em. Hope this helps, Thanks, Tom

I too was stationed at Ft Carson from '89-'92. We trained at Pinion Canyon twice before the call up to Desert Shield/Storm. I remember we weren't allowed to move any vehicles or equipment when it rained because of the damage to the manuever area. I'm kinda glad it rained off and on for 16 days in '8...

I'm getting 2894 fps average from an unpublished load of RL-22 with 180 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips. Is that close enough? It's safe in my 24" Douglas barreled, Ultra Light Arms 30-06 and one other Remington 700 with a 24" barrel. The same charge with Partitions is 2821 fps average. In the...
