The pigs in the picture look more like european boar than feral pig.
Feral pigs have gone some of the way back to its origins- but not that far.

I have not seen it and I may infact not do so- although I usually watch westerns. You see John Wayne was one of my childhood heroes. I do not think he was a great actor, or even a particularly good one (though he was a successful one) mainly because he used to play himself- this created credibility....

An early production Remington model 7 .222. I have taken an incredible amount of game with this rifle since I purchased it in about 1986. I would never part with it, and to me it is the ultimate rambling gun.

I will scope lever guns for rounds like 243 or 308 but never 30-30's. The scope encourages shooters to take 200 yard plus shots which to me are beyond the capability of a flat point 30-30. Note- I also have a 30-30 Contender that has been Ackley Imp and consider this with spitzers fine to about 225 ...

Used to have an BLR in 308, now have a MLR in the same calibre. Better than 2 inches at 100 yards. I can get it down to a smidge over an inch if I play with loads.

I have a Winchester 9417, all recovered fired cases have ruptured, with a split in the case evident for about four mm running down in a straight line from the case mouth.
Obviously I cannot reload the 17 HMR, but are there any dangers from this happening for the shooter or firearm?

Used to have one in 357- excellent little rifle but I found the range very limited.
Now I have one in 44 mag. Well made, acceptable accuracy for this sort of firearm. I agree, it does 'kick a bit' noticeably but not unbearably.
