Re: Good news from Mossberg
I am sorry to say (type) that I would not buy the current Winchester 94 made in Japan. I will consider buying the Mossberg 464. The stainless steel does look nice.

Re: OT: No more TV Westerns?
I have basic cable (no box) with 62 channels. I watch the four big networks and two or three cable channels. Like most of you, I remember The Rifleman with great fondnous. Bonanza was another I watched regularly. I do not get the cable channels dedicated to the old western TV shows. I too watched De...

Re: New SAA Clone
COSteve, beautiful guns. I have a Rossi 92 with 16 inch barrel and a Uberti Catleman with 4 3/4 inch barrel, both in .45 colt. They are a blast to shoot. I have not attempted anything past 100 yards, the Rossi is spot on, the Uberti hasn't hit anything out that far. Is it the gun, or is it the shoot...

Re: Has anyone any shooting experience with the new Italian 92's
I own a Cimarron model 1892, have only shot 10-15 rounds thru it. Not enough to state or say any issues. But I do not shoot SASS or cowboy action of any kind. Leaf springs may not be as strudy as coil springs. IMO, this may be the cause of some of the Italian issues. But let me assure you, I will ha...

Re: OT ugly gun we all own one?
Greetings and thank you to 336A. After looking at the picture of his model 185k, I thought I knew that shotgun. My father has a Mossberg model 190, now it is in my possession, so you can say I have the model 190. She is rough, stock has dents and scratches, and there is rust on the barrel. But I wil...

Re: Why did America choose the Peacemaker and the 1873.......
While there were many excellent guns in the old west (pre civil war), it was the self contain metallic cartridge that made firearms a huge sucess. Winchester with the .44 wcf and Colt SAA with the .45 colt. This may account for there popularity in books and movies.

Re: Advantages of Marlin '89 or'94 over Win 92?
Winchester 1892, and the 1886 for that matter, were the leader in design and strength. Marlin was trying to play catch-up. While I like the idea of made in America, as already said, it doesn't really mean anything today. There has always been a global economy, remember John Browning even went to Eur...

chiappa/cimarron ladder sights - updated with pictures
Bought a Cimarron model 1892 S.R.C. with ladder sights. I am about to embarasse myself, but I don't know how to use them. Please be kind enough to help a novice. Thank you.

There is nothing wrong with Marlins, they are excellent guns. But the model 92 has the looks and strength, my vote is Rossi.

Re: Browning Mainspring pressure - How much is good enough
Twoguns, In my message/entry "Model 92 mainspring replacement" is similar to your question. I feel the mainspring in my Browning is too stout for smooth cycling. What I want to do is find a replacement mainspring and found something I hope would work at Brownells. I would perfer not to cut...

I have a Rossi 92 .45 colt and it discolors the brass on the Winchester Cowboy loads. I did not notice anything unusual with Conbon or Buffalo Bore.

Model 92 mainspring replacement
I have two model 92 carbines, one Rossi 92 16 inch barrel .45 colt, the other a Browning B92 20 inch barrel .44 magnum. The browning is very rough compared to the Rossi. I have in my posession Steve Young's Rossi dvd, safety plug, ejector spring, replacement mag follower. After viewing the dvd and r...
