Re: Cabelas
Many of you described negative experiences at various Cabela's stores. I don't doubt that your accounts are true and don't intend to argue with you. However, my experiences at our Cabela's store are always positive. A number of employees in several departments know me by name and know my preferences...

Re: When to say when ,elderly parent
Rossi92, print a copy of your post and file it away. On your seventy year old birthday take it out and read it, see how you feel about it then. I second this. I am 69. My eyesight (corrected with glasses) is 20/15. I commute by bicycle. I can do 100 pushups (straight back, full up and down) in 55 s...

Re: Colt's new Government .22 cal handgun for around $350 retail
Hammerman, Thank you for the tips. I bent the middle prong of the spring outward slightly, then cleaned all the internal parts thoroughly and applied Hornady One-Shot. My trigger is now pretty good. Not as good as my Challenger II, but quite acceptable for a military knock-off pistol. Someday, I mig...

Hammerman,
I also have a railgun with a rather stiff trigger. Did you bend the middle prong of the 3-prong spring, replace the 3-prong spring, or do something else? I think lots of Colt-Walther owners will be interested in the details of your method of reducing the trigger pull.
Thanks,
KK

Re: My .45 Colt Ruger Blackhawk
Mine is similar, except it's blued. It makes an excellent partner to my Rossi 1892 45 Colt lever. Both fire the Blazer 200-grain jacketed hollow point and the Ultramax 250-grain round nose flat point flawlessly. To obtain the full joy of 45 Colt shooting, try the Buffalo Bore Heavy 45 Colt +P 300-gr...

Re: Got my new Davidson's special in today!
Thank you, gents, for your insights on the 44 mag. This is a great site for essential information, although "enabling" (related to gun buying) can go overboard. I should have been more clear on my "carry gun" objective. I'm fortunate to live in a part of the west where I can wand...

Re: Got my new Davidson's special in today!
Gents, those are handsome revolvers. I hope I'm not hijacking the thread by asking a question about 44 mag recoil. I sold a 1980-vintage Super Blackhawk with 7 1/2 inch barrel and square trigger guard because it felt front-heavy and cumbersome, and I could not get a proper hold on the grip. I was go...

Re: So where do you have your IRA?
My IRA has been with Edward Jones for about 7 years. I retired 3 years ago, right at the start of the great depression. Although I have made monthly withdrawals, the net asset value of my IRA is higher now than when I retired. All of the Edward Jones brokers are highly trained and ethical, and the c...

You are rightly proud, Kirk. And your daughter can be proud, too. She did a lovely and technically excellent performance. Thanks for sharing.
