The marlin search continues.
Well, we tried it again. Guy was selling that Texan for $500. Talked him down to $470 before seeing it. Then I saw it in person-- Several dents up and down the stock you couldn't see in the pictures, but the action was good. Had one of those brownell $30 peep sights. Asked if he'd be willing to do $...

Re: 9mm v. 45acp: Let The Melee Begin
I value physics. Mass is my friend. I cannot 100% guarantee shot placement. I value big holes. I value capacity. My magazines are extended. If I need velocity, I simply choose a lighter bullet. I carry a .45 When I got my first pistols, I went from 9mm to 45acp. Neither proved uncomfortable for long...

Annnd so much for that. Guy got a bit too greedy for his own good. He valued his Marlin at $500 and specifically listed interest in a trade for a Mini 14. I just happen to have a LEO Mini 14 that I bought for $500. Figure I'm being fair not only giving him what he wants, but not inflating the price...

Purchased a 454 in 2010. Fit and finish was lousy, most notably with the completely mismatched wood. Wouldn't cycle 45lc without ramming the nose of the cartridge into the upper lip of the chamber. Cycling 454 required a very stiff yank or you weren't guaranteed to lift the cartridge. Presumably mos...
