Re: OT - Browning Hi-Power thoughts -
I read that the older HP's had forged frames, which was claimed to somehow contribute to the warping issue. Newer ones have cast frames, and apparently no warping problems. Terry's explanation makes more sense though. My HP is a Mark III, 9mm FN model, with the SFS (Safety Fast Shooting) kit http://...

Very sorry for your loss.
Losing a pup can be very hard; I cry my eyes out every time.
I get too attached.
But a truth that I've come to know is that a new pup can take most of the suffering away.
Any shelters near you?
Best of luck.

My Remington 870 has never failed me, despite being used as a wading pole, boat paddle and brush parting tool (always when empty). 140gr. plain based in the .30-30?
Saeco lists a mold for this bullet. 150 to 180 grains seems to be preferred weight range for many, so before I order I thought I'd ask for input. I'd be casting wheel weights for my model 94 Winchesters, probably looking for 1,600-1,800 fps. Does anyone have experience with this weight in the .30-30?

That's not a bad price at all - depends on what you want.
If it's the rifle itself you want, go for it. If it's the cartridge you're interested in, I'd find a cheap .30-30 and have it re-bored.
