Kid was getting ready to leave for college. Ancient dog would not let her out of his sight. When she walked to her part time job one day, dog escaped & followed her about a mile.

Old Jack died within a month after she left.

I'm a 3d generation corn cob pipe smoker (we're cheapskates). Didn't know until internet exited that those pipes are made from a special kind of corn, grown for making pipes.

Your pipe will be a good thing to hand down to a son or grandson.
