Rossi 92 reassembly secret?

Post by jamesgpobog »

Is there one for the ejector plunger/stop pin?

I tried straight reverse order, and found it to be difficult with the plunger in place, so I left it out. Have the gun back together with the exception of the plunger and it's pin. I'm trying to get it aligned with a small pick, no joy. What's the trick?

yes, I have the instructions. I need secret tricks.

If I understand your dilemma, a case held in place with a finger and the extractor should do it.
Kind regards,

I can't get the plunger lined up so it will depress. It wants to rotate out of alignment, also it needs a little wiggle to get the plunger lower rails to line up. and the bolt needs to be forward.

jamesgpobog,

Put the empty case in the chamber, assemble the breechbolt & put it into the receiver, then push the breechbolt forward, until the extractor snaps over the rim of the empty case. You should have no trouble closing, or keeping closed, the breechbolt, since the ejector is now compressed.

OK, obviously, I have to take it back apart, no problem, but using your method, do I insert the pin at that point, then assemble the hammer and rear tang?

jamesgpobog,

Yes, that is correct. You'll get it.

P.S.

Because it is very similar to your Rossi, this Browning B-92 Field Service Manual will help you:

http://stevespages.com/pdf/browning_b92.pdf

You may ahve to go to the "MANUALS" page, first, though, because hotlinking is not always allowed:

...then select "Browning B-92 Field Service" to open the manual.
