Re: .44 Spl handloads
I am sure everyone remembers the old IMR reloading pamphlets from 30 years ago, I still have a few. I had a H&R in 22 Hornet so I decided to try some of the loads with 4895 and 4350 just to see why they were listed and if they would be accurate. I remember the first few shots having to run a bru...

Re: John Taffin and I Agree
I started out in Law Enforcement with a revolver and shot on the pistol team with several. Then one day Glock showed up. I thought they were the ugliest thing I had ever seen. I wore the first .40 out, the only original serial number or part when the gun left was the barrel. As much as the shortfall...

Nice grips. I saw the article in handloader when Lipsey's had the initial run but didn't try to find one. I guess Ruger realized they would sell because I bought mine from Davidson's. They also had the 5 1/2" barrel but I have always liked the 4 5/8". I had a old model 357 with a 5 digit s...

I fired some 5.0 Red Dot loads today and they shot fine. This is a pretty nice revolver and much nicer quality than some of the stuff I saw coming from Ruger in the 90's.

The rifle was good deal but it didn't shoot that great with factory ammo when I got it until I adjusted a few things so I can see why it was traded in. The rifle was a good deal but I really got a good deal on ammo. My first #1 was in .458 Win and I like the 218 Bee much better. Winchester sent me a...

I had always wanted a rifle in 218 Bee and in the 80's I repaired a Winchester Model 43 for a fellow and fired it a few times. When I saw Ruger was making them I put it on my bucket list but not wanting to spend $650.00 for a new one I just kept looking at the used rifles. One night about 12 years a...

Yes they are when you have big fingers. I have a Ruger #1 and only neck size them so I get about 7-10 loads with mils loads only about 5 with the 35 V-Max and Lil Gun loads.
I made some out of 25-20 R-P casings but they did'nt last any longer.

You will need at least a modified choke for a 12" pattern at 25 yards. I fired thousands of rounds of 00 buck and the buffered loads helped but not to the degree you want. I would be careful adding buffering/wax to any shotgun shell. The pressure can skyrocket by doing so. I would use only load...

How is the bore? I have used up to 20 grains with jacketed and the accuracy was pretty good even with my pitted bore. The lead cast bullets did not shoot that well. The case life was extremely short using maximum loads. Velocity was right at 1600 fps.
