Hunting in S. Cal. can be cold early and then 85 degrees by noon.I layer up lightly and also wear a camo
fine mesh head mask.It breaks up your face but I like it because the gnats and flys stay away from my
ears and face.I can stay still without the bugs driving you nutts.

Well from what I read these days you have to shoot bears with a cartridge as big around as a 20 ga.shell necked down to 7mm with a surgical plastic laser bullet designed for 99% weight retention with a 6-14 power scope, but I would opt for the 44 with heavy bullets.Partialy because it holds 10 rounds...

I use CCI cb longs and have shot hundreds of them out of my Rossi pump.Birds, rabbits, cats you name it.I found them faster out of a pistol then I read somewhere they peak out velosity at 9-10 in. barrels. The rossi is quieter than my beeman. And I like the heavier bullet ...

Just guessing here but I have soaked beef steaks in coca cola and it eats the
fat up real good. You cant leave it more than 20-30 min. or the meat falls apart
so it might work for bear even better.

cooler. There are some deer, coyotes, and bobcats.A few mountain and valley quail

Re: Whats the best lever gun & calibre for comp & wild pigs?
For the pigs bigger is better.35 Rem or 45-70. 45-70 you can use light loads
then jump up too heavys for hogs.A big hog can be tough.Shooting over some
hounds close smaller cals. can work but further out you could use more power.

better. My boy is only 4 and Im already thinking of it.Cant wait!
