The 6.5mm Arisaka case has an OAL of 50.5mm, The Roberts case 57mm, and the '06 case 63mm - just about half an inch longer than the Arisaka. '06-length cartridges would require magazine modification...

Looks like the forearm came from a Model 93 Marlin stock purchase premium .410; as Griff noted, a reproduction Winchester 94 or 64 forearm should be able to be fitted to your rifle. Is the forearm cap original?

Remember Browning's disastrous experiment with "salt wood" back in the 70's? I have my oldest boy's original left-handed T-bolt (in the box with all the paperwork, peep sight and single shot adapter) that's a mess because of Browning's use of pressure-treated blanks...

Have owned a number of Ithacas, all earlier guns with 2-3/4" chambers. Have a chance to buy a 3" chambered gun at a really good price. Questions is: Will the 3" gun cycle 2-3/4" shells?
