Oh MAN! You are asking about my most favorite caliber in the whole wide world! I may reload for about 60 different cartridges, but the .44 is what I am set up for in a BIIIG way. I've taken 19 elk so far with the .44, mostly revolvers, but a few with rifles. Using 240 JSP's to 330gr cast. Even kille...

I watched that a few weeks back and then again yesterday with my son. It was cool to see someone flying back into that area of Idaho and using a levergun. As others have said, get a manual to start. When you do get started a kit is the way to go. You can't go wrong with the RCBS Rockchucker Kit. The LEE stuff albeit less expensive, is not on par with the RCBS, especially the powder measure that you'll get. Don't be afraid to ask questions, because yo...

I kill deer out to and past 100 yards with the .44 and loads that do little more than 1300fps. Never lost one. Not ONE. Any 240 gr bullet, give or take 60 grains, will take any deer that ever lived.

Nice deer! You know, I got to thinkin'. . . . When I was a kid I shot many deer with a .357 revolver. An old Colt Trooper. CCI Mini Mags. I have a Slab side Ruger MKII that will put 5 of them into .25" At 25 yards. They shoot very well through most everything else I have. For general plinking, just about anything. But the CCI's are saved for making li'l tiny groups.

This is 100% bullcrap. A bullet doesn't have time to enter the animal, destroy part of it then have the partially destroyed vessels and arteries pick up lead fragments and disperse them throughout the animal in the seconds before its death.
