Ysabel, I honestly don't see how the two could meld. Being mostly lefties, it'd be wasted on them, it being contrary to their nature & philosophical world view. Here's an example......Ed Harris, who recently did Appaloosa as a hired gun/ lawman. I understand he's very against the citizenry posse...

Re: Buffalo Hunter pic
Forgive me for being skeptical, but, as the Title of this thread is Buffalo Hunter, I have to say anyone who would attempt to kill a buffalo with the power available in an 1873 is suicidal. Now IF it were an 1876, that might be another matter. I just don't think a .44-40 packs enough punch to do the...

Re: 35 remington, looking for opinions
From what I've been reading the 200 RNCL does seem to be a favorite with many. I'm also gonna experiment with the 180 SpeerFP & a good dose of AA2460 or H335 in my 336A to bump the effective range another 50yds or so. Point blank out to 225, with the proper rest, looks mighty interesting. jd45

leverluver, Old Savage showed us some custom handloads for his lever rifle in the thread on .45 Colt Loads. It consisted of a MtBaldy 360GR Keith-style SWC sittin atop 18.5GRS H110 with a mag primer. What a find! If the hammer is "A late 1st generation", does that mean it doesn't have the "straight-tapered" cone shaped firing pin configuration of the earliest SAAs? I'm a .45 Colt buff, but .44-40 would be REALLY nice, too! Good luck with it! jd45

IIRC, the Uberti SAs all have that safety device below the firing pin on the hammer, except for the ones they supply Cimmaron Arms with. USFA offers the Rodeo in .45 Colt-.38SPL. The finish is matte, but the internals are top-notch. You should be able to run warm .38 loads in her w/o trouble. Or, there's the Ruger. I'd go with the USFA, if it were me. jd45

This is just a SWAG, but my Rossi '92's left cartridge guide has a hinged, curved front portion, spring-loaded from behind, (against the inside wall of the receiver) that prevents a cartridge from coming out of the mag until you "ask" for it. It could be that the '94 is designed similarly....
