Could not make it to the outdoor range, but got to the indoor one last night and sent lots of lead downrange at the chickens and pigs, great therapy! Great idea Kirk.
Going to try and get out again this week end, we had a match last Sunday, bitter cold in that wind (wind chills in the -20's) but I was so beat after setting the targets out (too much snow for the Gator, had to do it all by hand) I did not shoot, just ran the match.

I believe it is a 1889, it has side eject, it also has "patented April 2 1889" on the barrel.

Joe, here are the sight pictures. When I first shot the Marlin it grouped way low and I could not raise the rear sight high enough to compensate and when I tried moving the little sheet metal piece with the notch in it up I found that the sight was cracked at the bottom of the buckhorn and the piece...
