Re: 336SC Rifling

I have a inclination to old Marlin 336As with Ballard rifling. I have the trifecta being a 30-30, 32 Special, and a 35 Rem. Just today I added an F prefix 336 ADL in 30-30 to my collection. What a sweet looking rifle. I have a couple SCs as well as not everything needs a 24" barrel. Old Marlins...

Re: POLITICS - Why won't somebody call it what it is???

If you deny a morgage to someone with poor credit, they are being opressed and cheated out of the "American Dream."
If you offer this person a morgage that they can't afford, but they accept it anyhow, you are taking advantage of them.

Pick either answer and you loose....

Re: POLITICS - Why won't somebody call it what it is???

I'm no big goverment fan, but the morgage mess was caused by greed and quick buck artists. The Feds deregulated the banking industry thinking that they were mature professionals, capable of following the most basic financial axioms. Clearly their assessment of the situation was wrong. I liken this s...

Mine is a U prefix, so it's a 1961 production which is the last year that Marlin produced them. Production of Marlin Zippers started in the mid-50's, but only a little over 3000 were produced.

I'll try to get some pictures up later this week.

My 219 Zipper went to the range today

I looked for a nice Marlin 336 219 Zipper for many years, and finally found a nice one a few months back. I formed a batch of cases from once fired Hornady 30-30 cases, trimmed them to length, then annealed the neck and shoulder area. Selected a few loads from various old reloading manuals, and one ...

It's a great powder for the 35 Remington.

With 200 grain bullets you can achieve about the same velocity as Hornady Leveroution factory loads.

You can get black foam plates at most party supply stores. Shooting them in the rain doesn't bother them(I live in Oregon, so that's important).

Reverse your paper target and hold the plate onto the target with a push pin, and away you go.
