Mine is a U prefix, so it's a 1961 production which is the last year that Marlin produced them. Production of Marlin Zippers started in the mid-50's, but only a little over 3000 were produced.

I have a Ruger Single Six w/ a spare 22 WMR cylinder and a 4" M-63 S&W. For general packing around, the M-63 would get the nod, if I could only have one or the other I'd keep the Ruger.

It's a great powder for the 35 Remington.

With 200 grain bullets you can achieve about the same velocity as Hornady Leveroution factory loads.

You can get black foam plates at most party supply stores. Shooting them in the rain doesn't bother them(I live in Oregon, so that's important).

Reverse your paper target and hold the plate onto the target with a push pin, and away you go.

I have a 1956 vintage M88 308 as well as a 1963 vintage 284. They shoot better than most people give them credit for, and that's likely due to the factory trigger.
