Re: Trapper in a Safe?

Had the same problem, one day at work a while back I was shipped my new laptop with a piece of eggcrate foam in the box. Works like a charm, they don't slip and will not mar a thing.

Re: Winchester Trapper?

Any idea of what these go for? This one has a little freckling on the reciever but it does not show up too well with the case coloring. I would rate it a 80%

Thanks

Winchester Trapper?

Were these offered in 30-30 16" with a cased reciever in AE. I looked at one today and have never seen one and can not find anything about it.

Thanks

Boy does that sound spot on!!! After reading your assesment and looking closer at your pics and mine I think you are right. It looks like whoever sporterized it ran the finger groove out to the barrelband. You can see where they had done some sanding on it. I just picked it up last weekend and have ...

I wonder why the finger grooves on mine go beyond the barrel band though? That is great info, anymore you can tell me would be great. I have other pics also.

Thanks

You know, I half wonder if the saddle ring from mine was replaced with a screw. There is a screw in place on the reciever of mine that does not make it all of the way through the threads on the other side and I thought that was odd. How long is you barrel to the front of the reciever? I will post so...

It helps, not what i was hoping to hear but it helps. Years of abuse have led to the under tang # being illegible. It is a cut barreled shooter in 30US with a trapdoor butt and what I believe to be a replacement rear ladder sight missing the elevator. The barrel is around 23".

Looks just like that with bigger grips. By the way, what is the little lever at the back of the triggerguard, I suspect some sort of transfer bar safety?

Picked it up tonight for $50 out the door. $50 won't buy much these days, so I figured I was crazy to pass.

OT, what can you tell me about a H&R 922?

I have an opportunity to buy an H&R 922 for pretty reasonable but I cannot find much info about them. I did not look close at the barrel length but it is either 4 or 6". The cylinder seems a little loose but other than that the blueing looks pretty good. What else can ya'll tell me. By the ...

Wow, I just tracked this thread down to see what all the "negativity" was all about.

It seems to me that you LeverBar are the one that turned this one south.

Just an observation
