I may be wrong, but I think XS makes a ghost ring that straddles the bolt on the rear of the receiver for a Browning 1886. I have one on a model 92 and if works well and does not look out of place.

There's one in my safe....I tend to reach for the 1895GS, the 1895 Cowboy, or the Win. 1886......I like my 45-70s a bunch, but that 30WCF is just as good (effective, if you will) and shoots flatter without flattening my shoulder........... yep, one in my safe as well. O.T. - Joseph Calanchini

Has anyone heard any more about the person. Joe Calanchini, who was arrested for carrying his guns in cases into his hotel in Denver during the DNC. The S.S. made a big deal out of it and the press reported it and then nothing. I can not find any updates on this story? :?:

Barnes Triple X all copper bullets expand extremely well, penetrate deeply and lose little if any weight. They are pretty pricey, but they do perform as advertised.

I use one and they work great. I suggest you look at the green laser model. I had the red and I took it back and went with the green. It shows up in daylight and makes sighting much easier. I would not however use one to change my sight settings in the field. They will save a lot of shots to get you...

I appears to me that the front sight block is welded or soldered on the barrel on the SRC's. On the rifles with the octagon barrels it is a dovetailed grove which would have been easier to deal with. I really liked this gun except for three items. The first was the glossy Browning finish. It has been stripped and the figured walnut has a nice warm Tru Oil finish now. The second was the trigger and action were heavy and rough. Steve Young worked some nice magic on those and they are great now. Th...

17's are fine as long as you limit your shots. I prefer the 22 mag for better assurance of quick humane kills out past 100 yds if you are set on using a rimfire. If you get into centerfire rifle now the world really opens up.
