There were .45 Colts already but they are all disbursed as far as we know. As of two weeks ago the one rep told us that they may not be bringing any more of the rifles in because they didn't go over very well ... who knows?

Bullets for my Little Sharps

I didn't need a sinker , the round ball worked great. The bore is .3815. So, what size bullet should I get?

I have a very limited knowledge of cast bullets or at least I feel I do. I'll ask more questions as I go along.

I want to slug the barrel ... do you think a .440 round ball will be too big? I measured the bore the best I could with my calipers and ir appears to be .380 or so.

32 mag pressure (21,000 cup) is less than half of a Hornet (43,000 cup) according to the Speer book and the rim is only .030 bigger.

Like I said, a rainy day dream, but I have most of the pieces ... and I also have the dies. :roll:

Hey t.r., that sounds like the 125 Sierra I was loading in my bolt action .30-30 almost 40 years ago. Darn good deer cartridge and bullet.

I resurected a made-for-Sears Winchester 94 that was far worse. I think Joe is right or at least darn close. It may not become the prettiest rifle when it gets done but it will be a good shooter with a little TLC and a fair amount of work.

Nath, when you "mishaped" the case, did you happen to roll the neck/shoulder down into the case? 1886 is right with what he said about an inproved chamber like a .30-30 Ackley. But, if you compacted the case it put a pretty good strain on the brass and the un-compacting might have strained...

The Marlin 336 at the top would hold about 1 1/2 to 2 inches at 100 yards with handloads ... my buddy is now enjoying it.
