These girls are really fun and their board-breaking show with full team of 12 is really amazing. Interestingly, they told me Paintball is very popular now in S. Korea. About shooting in the backyard - this location was a compromise. It's a 23 house U shaped ranch estate outside the city limits. 12 o...

My buddy Gordon Harms from Nebraska is on his first safari with us. Gordon is a double rifle maker and made one of my own 450 N.E. rifles. My venture into 1911 type pistols started with a Colt Commander. Unfortunately, that pistol and I did not get along. Various ergonomics, reliability issues and other features prevented me from enjoying it and being able to rely on it. I did not fault the pistol, just its interaction with me. However...

We use 38 for close range target shooting (25 yes or less). Lose velocity but very accurate with shots often touching or in same hole. Must use chamber brush if fired a lot w/ 38s. 357 doesn't lose much velocity. Get 1700 Fps w/ 158 gr reloads, 1550 w/ 180's and neither of these are top loads. Can g...

We use "bang sticks" on some of our alligator hunts where a bow or hook is used. You struggle to get the 'gator in but it will still be fighting fiercely. In these cases, a bang-stick to the head kills it instantly. We have bang-sticks that use 357 Mag or 44 Mag cartridges. Recently, a cli...

I accidentally discovered this holster is also "tuckable". The clip is fastened at the bottom of the trigger guard sheath, so you can tuck a shirt between the clip and the gun and it disappears.

Mine is a chromed 2.5" fully shrouded barrel gun with no hammer spur. It came with black rubber grips but they were sticky and pulled on my shirt when I wore the gun. I changed to Bohimi Hip Grippers. These are slim grips that follow the contour of the frame and they have a "notch" on...

I have only fired the Shield 9mm a few hundred rounds one day. Nothing wrong with it overall but I will caution you on one issue. It has a manual safety. Unless you are highly trained and practice periodically the safety can be a real problem in a high stress situation. There is a school of thought ...

Sorry for double posting but I want to add two things: 1) I DO NOT have a crossbow (yet) 2) In 29 years of bow hunting I can think of exactly 2 instances where a crossbow may have made the difference between getting a deer and not. The crossbow bolts are shorter and heavier. The short, heavy bolt combined with the short limbs and draw length of the crossbow require 3 to 4 times the draw weight to achieve the same velocity of a compound bow. IE: 175 LBS crossbow 14.5" draw 18" bolt Average 290 fps. 60 LBS vertical bow...

A modern crossbow that shoots anywhere from 280-355 fps is effective only out to about 40 yards. It has no more power and a similar trajectory to a compound bow with the same velocity. If you use a scope on a crossbow, it is possible to adjust it to hit reasonably well at 75 yards but then it would ...
