The reason you can not find one is because most folks do not part with them. And for good reason, they are an American made, quality product that shoots well and carries even better. If you are wanting a new gun, a short wait is due as Marlin will begin production on 1894s soon. IMO there is little ...

The early guns have the safety inside the trigger guard. I am not sure when the 16 was produced or if they had this feature. I did not like the safety, so I sold it.

Best of luck with the goats. I had and enjoyed them for many years. Neighbors dogs killed many of them, selecting the young as targets. I killed only one dog and never got paid for any of them. They are comical to watch and will provide many hours of entertainment.

I should restate my question. I would estimate the number of 95s rollmarked 30 ARMY were few as the moniker did not stay for long. How many years were they marked 30 ARMY? Were they ever marked as 30-40?

Marlin is your best place to inquire. Few PG 1894s were ever made so purchase or trade components are rare. The stockis the easy part. The lower tang and lever will be specific. Several folks at MarlinOwners are looking for the same.

Other than myself, I have never witnessed another hunting with a Winchester 94, 30-30. The Savage 99 is just about that rare as is the Model 70. Most of what I have seen are Remington bolt and automatics and Marlin leverguns. .30-'06 and 30-30 were the most common, .308 and 6mm were second.
