30-30 Puzzlement

Am I nuts or is this something some of you guys have experienced also? I'm used to shooting my 30-30 Winchester '94 (made in '52) and thinking nothing of it. The 30-30 has always seemed like a reasonably mild cartridge. Then I inherit a Western Field 30-30 from my deceased father-in-law that's essen...

Re: What vintage for a Winchester 94?

Just my 2¢ worth, but I've got a '94 from 1952 that's the cat's meow for me. I managed to get it in very fine to almost unused condition (a long story) and ended up putting a Marble's tang sight on it. Couldn't be happier with it--and overall I count myself as a Marlin kind of guy. The action is smo...

Hey Guys!!

A good number of the polls immediately after the debate indicated the average listener thought McCain won.

I'm not fond of McCain, but Obamammma's clearly the Darth Vader of this election cycle.

Up until the early 1970s, Texas had a law which defined a "Negro" as a person who contained 1/8 or greater negro blood. Under the 'Jim Crow" laws, such a law was needed. I doubt if there are any statutatory racial definitions any more, but these are the roots of theat sort of things....
