For all of you that buy cookware with an unknown history, I want to relate a little story. In '89 when we bought our house in Wy. there was lots of old cookware in the barn and garage that among other things had been left for us to dispose of. Yep you got a Krag. Krags and Brits had 28" barrels. 405, 30-03, 35 Win, and 30-06 had 24". 40-72 and 38-72 were 26", The 7.62x54R was a different cat altogether. IMO the 35 was top o the line for a cartridge. But IIRC the Krag is a longer case so without some judicious comparison of ...

Re: Old Winchester .25-35 advice needed
All previous comments are accurate. $800 is a nice buy on that rifle if in good shape and not beat to heck. Now the down side...The 25-35 suffers from component availability. There is really only one bullet on the common market for it...the Hornady 117 grain pill. There are lighter bullets...the 86g...

Last Sunday we trekked down to Tulsa for the show. My observations as follows: Marlin Centerfire Levers are still the best buy of the crowd. Many there in outstanding condition worth every penny. Marlin Lever .22's early ones holding steady, maybe slight increases. BB94's getting harder to find. Saw...

I grew up with a model 60, and shot so many rounds out of that thing that I'd hate to guess. It ALWAYS had FTF's with Remington ammo. Winchester, CCI and Federals were flawless. I load for the 32-20 and really don't have much preference over components. Neither does my rifle. In the 92 they can be pushed pretty hard, which typically requires a tougher bullet. There can be several reasons that the cylinder is not parallel to the top strap, and you have only covered one of them. It could also be that the receiver is broached crooked.
