i'd take a browning src.86-45-70 and a win95 src 30-06. either gun will kill anything on earth. the 06 can reaach out for those rare 250yds.+ shots. the 4570 when loaded right, will stop any game there is.

i hunt in brush country. 100yards is a long shot. i'd rather hunt with a bigbore 94 than anything else. if i ever find a repro-blunderbuss, i;d like to take a turkey with one.

.357; it can be loaded down to duuplicate the others. loaded up. it approaches 30wcf. at shotr range. cheap to shoot, can find ammo anywere. got to be one of the most useful cartridges ever.

have an old 39 made in the30's. good, but not the best accurracy. stingers make a nice wound cavity on game. prefer a solid at a lower velocity if you want to eat what you shoot.

.444 cause its chambered in the 94 flm 20" barrel. i like the.356wcf. better myself, but the .444 is more versatile in factory loadings. i limited my self to full length 94 chmberings, caues it's the ulimate timber gun. :D

you can kill anything with anything. expansion is more critical on light big game. heavy game requires a bullet that holds together and drives deep, this is the philosphy of the ammunition companies for the last 110 years, and i tend to agree. but ,as always, bullet placement thrumps everything.

+2 for the tommy gun.while the 12's more versatile, cheaper and eaiser to get ammo for, i all i had was a 20, i'd sleep good at nite. same for hunting, might have to get a little closer, the 20 will kill anything the 12 will.

357 at lower velocitiy will expand in deer size game, while the 44 will punch straight thru, without expanding. bullet construction is often overshadowed by boresize and muzzle velocity/energy. you gotta match the bullet to the game.

had a .44magnum that was ported. sold it after 20 rounds. under field conditions you wont be using hearing protection. tradeoff between muzzle flip and NOISE wasn't worth it for me,anyway.

we used to go for suckers in march in french creek. grandmother would make fish cakes out of them. suckers are good in march , while the water is still cold, it makes thier flesh firm and sweet. the few times that i went when i got older, i smoked them and they were quite good.

375 H&H, 444MARLIN, 458 WIN, and 45-70. , all using bullets constructed for penetrating big game. will all kill the same game, just as dead as the other. as long as thse bullets hold togther, they will penetrate and destroy vital organs, regardless of which label you put on it.
