Anybody Loading 40-82 WCF with 5744 Powder or 300 gr Bullet?
It seems that there aren't too many firing Model 1886 Winchesters out there these days in 40-82. I guess maybe that's because reloading components haven't exactly been plentiful for that caliber. I had a thought about using .405 jacketed bullets made by Hornady in reloads. Anybody tried that? Also, ...

A guy in my town has a takedown lever action rifle for sale in 25-35 WCF caliber. I've wanted a Model 94 in that caliber for a while, and may have to bite the bullet pricewise --- he's asking $1500. The bore is nice and shiny with strong rifling and the exterior finish is about 80%. The serial numbe...

Those 75 grain pointed hollow points are much easier to find on the sporting goods store shelves in my area than the 70 or 86 grain jacketed flatnose bullets are. I'm rather fed up with the deer eating the fruit in MY orchard and yard. Winchester 1894 vs Marlin 1893 -- Depth of Rifling?
I was using a bore light this afternoon to examine the bore and rifling in two of my vintage rifles in 32-40 caliber. I noticed that the rifling in the 1893 Marlin rifle (serial# 2939XX) was much deeper than in my 1899 vintage Winchester Model 1894 rifle. The bore of the Winchester 1894 is bright an...

I wonder if the liner (with modern steels) adds to the strength of the 1873 rifle.
