All the 81's were black powder guns. Never made them in 38/40. But they were made in 38/55, though I'v never seen 38/55 marked 38W on anything. Its actually a Marlin/Ballard caliber.

Mine came with the LFC die but I dont use it much. The seating die has a crimp shoulder just like every other standard seating die does. I'm not fond of the LFC die with cast bullets, I prefer to roll crimp into the crimp groove.

I have a LFC die for most everything I load. But I rarely use them anymore. The acceptions being bullets with no canalure or some hotter loads. I'll try it looking to improve acuracy as well sometimes. But, I'v decided that consistant case length is critical when I really care so I tend to keep them...
