Don't laugh but here in Massachusetts a lot of hunters have gone to blackpowder/muzzleloading only. Many hunters lost their licenses to carry or firearms ID when the laws became much more stringent concerning past offenses.

I wonder if it would be worth a short trip to hunt feral hogs in the Keystone State? Are there enough numbers to warrant time spent in pursuit?
In addition, how receptive are landowners in that area to hunters asking permission? Are they pretty good about it or is it hard to gain access?

Normally I don't watch these shows a lot. The bar was pretty much empty so I wanted something on. I tend to dislike how these shows are set up on private ranches and game farms. To me many of the shows do not portray real hunting. At least that isn't hunting that I do.

I agree with the one shot. When I shoot a max load in the lightweight single shot I can't feel a thing if it is aimed at a turkey. It seems that you don't notice anything but the interaction of sighting the bird, squeezing the trigger and recovery from the shot.

I do all of my casting outside near the deck. What I do is to let the pot heat up and walk away until I can see at a distance that it is fully melted then commence to casting.
