I plug the bore and fill it with mercury. Gets out every little speck of lead. Jeff, that's old school But I still have some from way back when. I still have some old Smithing books that recommended it, too. Almost like magic. Now Days I use an old bore brush wrapped tight with bronze wool. Brownel...

The 11 degree cone is much easier on lead bullets for sure. Think of it like this. It's a funnel. Old style funnels had steep angles and if you poured into it too fast it sloshed over. The 11 degree cone is more like the long or tall sided funnels that allow you to pour faster with out sloshing over...

My everyday carry is an old 40cal Glock M22 trade-in duty gun with fresh nightsights but if it's hot out and I'm in shorts I have a P11 in a pager-pal holster stuffed in my front pocket without the pager. It's light and with the holster it doesn't print. When drawn the holster stays in place. My wif...

Re: Anyone know what the 92 Rossis are going for?
I planning on ordering a stainless 16" 44 Mag and while checking on the price my normal gun shop told me cost (their cost) was 471. I'm thinking that's about retail unless these things have gun up substantially. I generally pay 5-10% over cost and I'm thinking he was seeing retail. All the guy...

These Chapparrel guns are made by Angelo Bufoli. Angelo's claim to fame is his was the previouse owner/maker of the Armi San Marco guns, ASM's. He went out of business in the mid 90's because of QC issues and was then reincarnated when AWA International bought into the company before they went out o...

I sell many one piece firing pins to CAS shooters when doing action work for these folks. It really does allow the action to be smoothed even farther than without it. BUT, I always caution them, to clean the gun remove the lever and the bolt will easily come out. DO NOT remove the trigger plate if i...

The more important thing to consider is the angle in which the locking bolt engages the breech bolt. Maximum pressure could be achieved if they locked at 90 degrees perpendicular. The problem with that is once the round is fired the two tend to bind up making the gun impossible to open. Actions like...

Re: Marlin
As far as the square bolt thing: its just a round bolt with the corners left on. The Marlins in rifle cartridges have the corners knocked off. Please don't take this a technical statement; it is only meant to imply that for the intended uses (i.e. pistol calibers with square bolts, rifle calibers w...

Perhaps it doesn't happen very often. I suspect it doesn't. But it does happen and Marlin ought to step up and fix it once and for all. Ed, That's going to be hard to do. It rarely happens unless the gun has had thousands of rounds through it working the action really hard and fast I.E. CAS. CAS or...

Re: Marlin
In my experience: I've fired nearly 30,000 rounds through my Marlin 1894CB 24" barrel in SASS competition, each of which was a 125gr TC clocking about 1350 fps. It's had an action job and a one-piece firing pin installed. It still feeds like a dream, cycles as smooth as a buttered BB on glass ...

As for how the rossi /Puma 92 will stand up to heavy 45lc, you won't have any problems. Rossi now chambers the 92 in 454 casull, a much higher pressure round than any book ...

That chinese SXS hammer gun is a loose copy of the rossi SXS hammer gun. It even has coil over strut hammer springs. The hammers are true hammers that slam forward and slap the firing pins then rebound to a safety notch. If the hammers rested on the firing pins the pins would stay buried in the prim...
