Well my uncle waits very paitently for a neck shot, that is all he ever takes and passes more deer up than most shoot. He knows and fully understands the limitations of that caliber for deer. He was bumbed out when I had him out for a Wy antleope hunt and the state has a minimum restriction ( then) ...

Re: Remington 722 Triple Deuce...
My uncle in PA has that rifle, about the same age. I can't begin to tell you how many woodchucks and yes...PA white tail deer it has killed. Very smooth rifle and accurate. The brass will last 12+ loadings since it is so mild until the neck cracks. If you don't grab it, let me know!

I have shot 820 rounds year to date maybe slightly higher than last year. Most of that was rimfire but 1/2 or so center fire, no .223 out of a black gun.

I really enjoy mine, used it on twomoose hunts, both successful and a couple of elk also. I use the 250 gr partition Federal premium ammo, it just shoots the best in my rifle. Recoil is OK, a little stiff off the bench but in the field, nothing you would notice. IF I were to start from scratch, I wo...

I own one made in 1959, very nice shape. It shoots well, I have hunted with it and killed one or two elk with it. they have a very fast cycle/lever rate in my opinion. Mine is all original, no extra holes or scope, just the open sites. I like it very much, handy to carry.

My "normal" carry load in that would be 2 shot shells lined up to go first, 2 38 specials lead round nose, then 2 158 grn hollow point 357 mag loads. You can do lots of scare with the snake shot loads and if needed just spin the cylinder to advance what youwant to use.

Re: Against the LAW to shoot soda cans...
here folks shot at the Pawnee National Grass lands. They have rules you must carry in and carry out all your targets, no shooting at glass or cans. This is primarily an attempt to keep the area cleaner. Still some folks leave an ugly mess behind which in the long run will close the entire spot down.
