Re: Bikes & guns (well... not so many guns) Pt III
I have been riding since I was 15. Couple years back I swerved to miss a deer in the highway. I didn't see the second deer until i T-Boned it! Killed the deer. Messed up my 86 Goldwing a bunch. I slid 250 feet down the highway including a couple flips. Not a scratch on me! Me leathers took the brunt...

Nice mallet! Be a shame to beat it up! I have been using a bar of solder as a mallet forever. I have been told that is stupid and that it will ruin the mold. I have poured thousands of boolits and molds are all fine. Well except in Ohio everything rusts if it is not continually treated.

Mebbe something like a rimmed .30BR? Could be made on .307 brass. With the Lyman 311440 it would be pretty short and more powerful than the 30-30.

My vote is for 30-06. Many more bullets available and molds if you go that route. CMP has LC Ball ammo for $250 per K. Good shooting ammo. Nice reloadable cases. I have a left hand Rem 700 in 22-250. I have never regretted buying it. It does not carry near as well as my leverguns though.
